Windows Hello Not Working,(We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face) on my device Surface Laptop i5

I already tried this options :

"Procedure 1 :

  1. Open File Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver
  2. Right-click on HelloFace.inf and click "Install"
  3. If the file exists do the same thing for HelloFaceMigration.inf in the same directory

Procedure 2 :

Check on your camera manufacturer's website if there is any update available for your camera.

For example if you have a Logitech camera check on the Logitech website for any update for your camera.

Procedure 3 :

Click on Start button, type "cmd", right-click on "Command prompt" and click on "Run as administrator".

Copy-paste the following lines in the command prompt, one by one, pressing Enter after each line (to paste right-click at the top on "Administrator : command prompt" > Edit > Paste) :

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

sfc /scannow

Procedure 4 :

  1. Click on the Start button, type "run" and click on "Run"
  2. Type "services.msc" (without quotes) and click on "Ok"
  3. Find "Windows Biometric Service", double click on it and click on "Stop"
  4. With File Explorer go to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase and make a backup of all the files just in case. Move that backup outside of that folder.
  5. Once backed up delete all the files in C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase
  6. Open another time "services.msc", double-click on Windows Biometric Service and restart it
  7. Go to Start, type "settings", click on "Settings", go to "Accounts", "Sign-in options" and register the Face data again"

    Hello:

    Thank you, MM Rahman!  I've been looking for a solution for over 4 months (I know, that sounds crazy, but it's true).  I've read everything from uninstalling Windows updates, to changing the BIOS, to reinstalling Windows, to deleting and reinstalling drivers, and many more suggestions  I was scared to do any of those things in fear I would mess up my computer (I'm a technical novice), which is why I never tried them.

    However, I was getting frustrated with this issue, and therefore I was going to try those things above, but I came across your suggestions.  Guess what?  Your first option worked!  I went to the face driver link/thread (under Procedure 1), right clicked the 2 files you noted, clicked "Install" for both files, and to my delight, it worked perfectly!  Woo hoo!

    Please note: This is the first time I have participated in a forum like this (I'm old), but I wanted you to know how happy I was with your suggestion and wanted to give you the proper kudos that you deserve.  Thanks, again!

    My Windows Hello Camera stopped working after I had reinstalled the Windows 10 OS. None of the options described in this thread worked for me. What worked is in the screenshot attached. Just open the Get Help app in Windows 10 and follow the directions in the screenshot. It worked for me after months of no luck with Windows hello camera.

    Hi, thanks for the solution, mine already had the Apps installed but it's seem not working..

    I discovered another potential issue that can cause this that is missing from all the suggestions I was able to find.

    If you are missing the C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver folder entirely you need to install the optional feature "Windows Hello Face".

    1. Open Settings -> Apps
    2. Click 'Optional features'
    3. Click 'Add a feature'
    4. Select 'Windows Hello Face' from near the bottom of the list and Install it
    5. Reboot after the installation is complete

    Now Windows Hello Face should detect your Windows Hello compatible camera, assuming its drivers and everything else are working properly.
