We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face

Update

I right clicked on "Windows Hello Face Software Device" and selected "Uninstall device", checked "Delete the driver software for this device" then rebooted my laptop once.

Now the device can start but Windows Hello Face still says "We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face" as before.

Before that I have also uninstalled both "Integrated Camera" and "Integrated IR Camera" and re-install with the latest driver (both cameras use the same driver) downloaded from Lenovo website. Didn't help.

Now I'm clueless. No idea where to investigate next... I'm afraid re-installing Windows from scratch is what I need to do.

I followed the steps to "Upgrade this PC now" using Media Creation Tool. It took a couple hours but did not solve my issue.

I can use fingerprint but the face scan shows

I looked at Device Manager and "Windows Hello Face Software Device" does not have the yellow warning sign. But when I double-clicked on it, the "Location" is "Unknown" which is weird. I don't remember what it was when it was working months ago on my laptop.

Then I clicked on "Events" tab and found that there is an error.

The full message is

Any ideas what is going on and how to fix this? Windows Hello stop functioning since Windows Update many months ago. I was able to make fingerprint work again but still no luck on Windows Hello Face.

I have done everything described here and other forums on Google. Setting GPO, Registries, etc. None worked.

I don't have that option in troubleshoot option. It seems my PC is not suitable. My PC is BIOS is LEGACY. Is there any other way to enable this option?

I already tried this options :

"Procedure 1 :

1. Open File Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver
2. Right-click on HelloFace.inf and click "Install"
3. If the file exists do the same thing for HelloFaceMigration.inf in the same directory

Procedure 2 :

Check on your camera manufacturer's website if there is any update available for your camera.

For example if you have a Logitech camera check on the Logitech website for any update for your camera.

Procedure 3 :

Click on Start button, type "cmd", right-click on "Command prompt" and click on "Run as administrator".

Copy-paste the following lines in the command prompt, one by one, pressing Enter after each line (to paste right-click at the top on "Administrator : command prompt" > Edit > Paste) :

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

sfc /scannow

Procedure 4 :

1. Click on the Start button, type "run" and click on "Run"
2. Type "services.msc" (without quotes) and click on "Ok"
3. Find "Windows Biometric Service", double click on it and click on "Stop"
4. With File Explorer go to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase and make a backup of all the files just in case. Move that backup outside of that folder.
5. Once backed up delete all the files in C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase
6. Open another time "services.msc", double-click on Windows Biometric Service and restart it
7. Go to Start, type "settings", click on "Settings", go to "Accounts", "Sign-in options" and register the Face data again"

I tried all the above, but only managed to fix this issue by doing the in-place upgrade, detailed below. (Highlighted key bits in Bold)

1. Download the ISO file from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
2. Under the subheading "Create Windows 10 installation media"
3. "Download tool now"
4. Install Media creation tool
5. Download the ISO of Windows 10
6. Open the ISO/Run the Setup.exe
7. "Upgrade" Windows 10"
8. This will go though the normal upgrade process and screens, replacing the key Windows 10 system files.
9. Once complete, hopefully it'll be working again!

Notes:

My "Biometric device" > "Windows Hello Face Software Device" reappeared in Device Manager, which seemed to be the missing component prior to that - at least for me.

Hi, after I clicked on install for HelloFace.inf it showed "Do you want this app to make changes to your device?" then i clicked yes but I didn't find it download anywhere

Please tell what to do
