We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face

Windows Hello Not Working,(We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face) on my device Surface Laptop i5

I already tried this options :

"Procedure 1 :

1. Open File Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver
2. Right-click on HelloFace.inf and click "Install"
3. If the file exists do the same thing for HelloFaceMigration.inf in the same directory

Procedure 2 :

Check on your camera manufacturer's website if there is any update available for your camera.

For example if you have a Logitech camera check on the Logitech website for any update for your camera.

Procedure 3 :

Click on Start button, type "cmd", right-click on "Command prompt" and click on "Run as administrator".

Copy-paste the following lines in the command prompt, one by one, pressing Enter after each line (to paste right-click at the top on "Administrator : command prompt" > Edit > Paste) :

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

sfc /scannow

Procedure 4 :

1. Click on the Start button, type "run" and click on "Run"
2. Type "services.msc" (without quotes) and click on "Ok"
3. Find "Windows Biometric Service", double click on it and click on "Stop"
4. With File Explorer go to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase and make a backup of all the files just in case. Move that backup outside of that folder.
5. Once backed up delete all the files in C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase
6. Open another time "services.msc", double-click on Windows Biometric Service and restart it
7. Go to Start, type "settings", click on "Settings", go to "Accounts", "Sign-in options" and register the Face data again"

I tried all the above, but only managed to fix this issue by doing the in-place upgrade, detailed below. (Highlighted key bits in Bold)

1. Download the ISO file from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
2. Under the subheading "Create Windows 10 installation media"
3. "Download tool now"
4. Install Media creation tool
5. Download the ISO of Windows 10
6. Open the ISO/Run the Setup.exe
7. "Upgrade" Windows 10"
8. This will go though the normal upgrade process and screens, replacing the key Windows 10 system files.
9. Once complete, hopefully it'll be working again!

Notes:

My "Biometric device" > "Windows Hello Face Software Device" reappeared in Device Manager, which seemed to be the missing component prior to that - at least for me.

I started seeing this same issue a couple of days ago.  Got tired of using PIN and did to searching for others having same issue.  Not going to spend hours working on something that should just work.  And system restores are an easy way to start to figure out what is breaking this feature.  I am on 20H2 version and had all the latest updates.  My restore took be back to 12/9/20 said something about some Window install module, but again did not spend a whole lot of time trying to figure out what is broken.  I am working with as Surface 7 Pro and one would think the windows OS is fully aware of the camera it has installed.  The short of it the feature is working and I also now see the option to Remove.  Now the fun begins...  Let's see what update breaks this feature.  Time to pay closer attention.  I am hoping the telemetry MS is capturing is way ahead of us and is seeing our issues.  If not guess some feedback will be in order to help them get there quicker.  

Time to go back and watch the Seahawks practice against the Jets...

Hi, None of the steps worked for me. I have the latest version of firmware installed and surprisingly camera app is working fine and I have issues only to setup/use Face Id feature. Please help

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

By the way, did the issue happen after installing updates on your Surface device?  This seems like a common issue since I had assisted 2 Community members who have the same problem with Windows Hello. 

To initially troubleshoot this issue, I would like you to follow the following steps below.

Check UEFI Settings if Cameras are disabled

 Press & hold the Shift Key and select "Restart" from the power options. Once "choose an option" screen appears, select Troubleshoot > Advance Options and UEFI/Firmware Settings > Restart > Choose Devices > Make sure the cameras are being enabled. Then, select Exit to restart your Surface.

If no changes after enabling cameras, to further troubleshoot the issue, please download thisin-place upgrade. Downloading the tool will re-install missing drivers and repair those that are corrupted . It won't delete files nor remove the applications you already installed. Just click the "Download Tool Now", run and install and click Next once you see "Upgrade This PC".

After many attempts, I did the following to make it work:

Step 1:  Either uninstall any anti-virus or restore them to default.  I use ESET and just did a restore to default.  Important to do this first.

Step 2: Do the above Windows in-place upgrade, as described by MM Rahman.

Step 3:  Do the above Shift - Restart process.  First, disable the cameras.  Then restart the Surface.  Do Shift - restart process again, enable the cameras.  Restart the surface.

Step 4:  Start Device Manager and uninstall the camera.

Step 5:  Reinstall the camera, and update driver.  Search for updates on Windows  It will prompt you for a general Windows update - run that.

Step 6:  Do this, Procedure 4.  Don't bother with the others they won't work.

Procedure 4 :

1. Click on the Start button, type "run" and click on "Run"
2. Type "services.msc" (without quotes) and click on "Ok"
3. Find "Windows Biometric Service", double click on it and click on "Stop"
4. With File Explorer go to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase and make a backup of all the files just in case. Move that backup outside of that folder.
5. Once backed up delete all the files in C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase
6. Open another time "services.msc", double-click on Windows Biometric Service and restart it.

I had to delete the WinBioDatabase twice.

Then I was good to go.  

problem still not solved pls solve it

Even after applying all the settings and upgrades I am unable to use windows hello face services. Please help me.
