Slow Wifi with brand new Surface Book 2!!!

I am so beyond disappointed!! I bought one of the most expensive versions of the Surface Book 2 (i7, 15 inches, 512 GB) and it its wifi connection is only half the speed of my old i5 and i3 laptops!!! IT IS UNACCEPTABLE for the price I paid (almost 3000 dollars for the computer, and if you add accessories and extended warranty, more than 3600!!).

I have tried everything: resetting the network, reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers, resetting windows from scratch...everything!. I have a 100 Mbps connection at home and all my laptops and smartphones get wifi speeds around 45-50 Mbps, but the SB2 gets 20 Mbps and most of the time it does not even get to 10 Mbps.

I have been reading many other testimonies online of people experiencing the same. I feel scammed. 

Not only that, it also seems that there is some kind of incompatibility with the design software I use (Sketchup and Vray). They work flawlessly in my older computers. They crash all the time with the Surface Book 2.

Seriously thinking about returning it. They pull you in with the shiny exterior, but it is a substandard product.

    Hi nowindowssss, did you try to change the WMM Power Save settings of the Marvell Wi-Fi Adapter? Change the value under Device Manager | Network adapters | Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller | Advanced | WMM-PS from Optimized to High Performance.

    I had the same problem, really slow WIFI connectivity even when I was only a few meters away from the WIFI router. Additional finding: when opening Control Panel | Network and Internet | View network status and tasks | Connections | <wifi name> | Wi-Fi Status, the connection details show a really slow Connection Speed (like 11 Mbps or 19 Mbps) instead of the normal speeds over >> 100 Mbps.

    After changing the setting, my Connection Speed went up to 130 Mbps within seconds. And it stayed high.

    I'm curious to know if this also helps in your case.

    That seems to help but when I have bluetooth turned on I see a decrease in performance. Have you tested with bluetooth on and perhaps a Surface Pen in use?

    Same issue here on a recently purchased SB2. Have read through multiple forums and tried the suggested fixes to no avail and no official Microsoft response/fix. Very disappointing for what is supposed to be a top-of-the-line model. May also have to resort to a return if nothing soon.

    I think your guess is right on. If I'm not mistaken the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios are a single combined unit. I've also isolated flickering on an external monitor to be caused by Bluetooth even though it's wired to the dock.

    I have been trying to figure this out all day...have run 100 speed tests...

    Interesting enough, when I turn bluetooth off, my speeds are fine 100% of the time. When I turn it back on, they slow, but some times they are just a tad below my top speed and some times very slow. Now of course that could be a complete coincidence. I had a hypothesis that when I moved my pen to the other room maybe it was trying to connect to it via bluetooth and due to the distance it was straining. That is the only other thing *I* changed other than updating to 1809 and the latest SB2 drivers (used to keep pen close/attached but moved it to a room down the hall the other day). I think its related to bluetooth/power management/interference but trying to narrow it down is proving difficult. Of course it might be external interference from a neighbor but very odd that when I turn bluetooth off, so far every time, I get top speeds...

    And there is more joy ..... earlier I posted that to get round this ridiculous problem I purchased a TP-LINK ARcher Wifi Dongle. Plugged it into my surface doc . Guess what its keeps dropping out . Like its powered off , but its not, green light is on. So took it out and plugged into SB2 itself. Never drops ...... Great even the dock is useless. THGis is so unacceptable.
