Slow Wifi with brand new Surface Book 2!!!

I am so beyond disappointed!! I bought one of the most expensive versions of the Surface Book 2 (i7, 15 inches, 512 GB) and it its wifi connection is only half the speed of my old i5 and i3 laptops!!! IT IS UNACCEPTABLE for the price I paid (almost 3000 dollars for the computer, and if you add accessories and extended warranty, more than 3600!!).

I have tried everything: resetting the network, reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers, resetting windows from scratch...everything!. I have a 100 Mbps connection at home and all my laptops and smartphones get wifi speeds around 45-50 Mbps, but the SB2 gets 20 Mbps and most of the time it does not even get to 10 Mbps.

I have been reading many other testimonies online of people experiencing the same. I feel scammed. 

Not only that, it also seems that there is some kind of incompatibility with the design software I use (Sketchup and Vray). They work flawlessly in my older computers. They crash all the time with the Surface Book 2.

Seriously thinking about returning it. They pull you in with the shiny exterior, but it is a substandard product.

    Same issues: added a Netgear Nighthawk adapter to my SB2, now getting the performance that I should have been getting all along, but at even more expense.

    So I had this issue with the Surface Book 1, same Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller as the Surface Book 2. Intermittent connections on a 200 Mbps connection down to 58 Kbps, usually hovering around 10 Mbps at best.

    Meanwhile a work Dell Latitude 5580, not to mention my phone and other devices, were connecting at between 160-220 Mbps. Extremely frustrating. I finally went to the local Microsoft Store in Honolulu and they saw the same thing; got a replacement and then IN STORE showed the same problem. Then I got an upgrade to a Surface Book 2 for my troubles (which was certainly nice!) and that showed good speeds out of the gate but then went back to the old ways of intermittently slow, and occasionally dropped, connections on my home router.

    Tried most of the solutions in here, reinstalling drivers, 5G only, etc. In the end my "fix" is that I bought a Netgear A6210 WiFi USB Adapter and plugged it into the bloody thing, so now I get full speed. But it's absolutely absurd that my solution to this is a USB WiFi dongle.

    Love Microsoft's customer service, even the agents I've contacted remotely really tried to dig into what was going on, but between this and losing two Surface Book 1s to bulging batteries their hardware isn't impressing me much.

    Ok, i have this same problem, im on unit number four over a timespan of about 6 months, i tried a Surface Pro 6 in between and had the same issues, this is something with the WIFI card in the Surface Pros and SufaceBooks, heck probably all the Surface laptops...

    I'm using a crystal clean Unifi system at my house, i have 1GB/1GB fiber coming into to a Unifi Security Gateway, then into a Unifi Switch then going to 3 Unifi AC HD Pro's.

    Keep in mind when i plug hard wired into my switch i get above 1GB/1GB...

    I pull out my Note 9 i get 300-500 down and 300-500 up every time, i pull out my other laptops and i get 200-400 up and down, ONLY the Surface laptops have this ridiculously slow WIFI speed issue.

    Luckily i use mine mostly for office apps and i love the screen so i have decided to keep it.  I just hate hearing people offer advice and start asking about your router and this and that, its a problem with the Microsoft machines people, either get a USB WIFI adapter or deal with the slower speeds.

    I'm having the same problem, got my Surface Book 2, just 4 weeks ago and spent more than $3200 on it. WiFi constantly gives me 5 to 10 Mbps both at home and at work with Nighthawk AC1900 or Ubiquiti Enterprise WiFi access point.

    My MacBook Pro sitting right beside my Surface gives me around 110 Mbps constantly. I also used an external USB WiFi Dongle which gave me 75 Mbps on the surface but the Marvell card doesn't go beyond 5 to 10. I also tried making it "5G" only, it doesn't go beyond 15 either.

    Microsoft you have to do something !!!!

    Would you be willing to email me (sbradcpa-at-PacBell.net - change the -at- to @) and I can open up a business support case for you where they can probably help you much better with a SonicWall VPN setup?  I'd like to make sure this gets proper attention.  I'm a colleague of Barb's and she pointed out this post.

    I will need a good call back number where Microsoft support can call you back and work with you on the issue.
