I get similar results when comparing my 7-year old 13" MacBook Pro (running Windows 10 Pro) to my 13" SB 2. Basically, the SB 2 operates at about half the speed of the 7-year old machine.
Slow Wifi with brand new Surface Book 2!!!
I am so beyond disappointed!! I bought one of the most expensive versions of the Surface Book 2 (i7, 15 inches, 512 GB) and it its wifi connection is only half the speed of my old i5 and i3 laptops!!! IT IS UNACCEPTABLE for the price I paid (almost 3000 dollars for the computer, and if you add accessories and extended warranty, more than 3600!!).
I have tried everything: resetting the network, reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers, resetting windows from scratch...everything!. I have a 100 Mbps connection at home and all my laptops and smartphones get wifi speeds around 45-50 Mbps, but the SB2 gets 20 Mbps and most of the time it does not even get to 10 Mbps.
I have been reading many other testimonies online of people experiencing the same. I feel scammed.
Not only that, it also seems that there is some kind of incompatibility with the design software I use (Sketchup and Vray). They work flawlessly in my older computers. They crash all the time with the Surface Book 2.
Seriously thinking about returning it. They pull you in with the shiny exterior, but it is a substandard product.

2018-04-04T08:49:43+00:00 Same here, I bought my Surface Book 2 from Taiwan last month.
And speedtest.net always result about 5Mbps/12Mbps while my iPhone 7, connected to same wifi and placed with Surface Book 2, reports 55Mbps/18Mbps.
This kinda wired that download speed decrease 10x than other wifi device and upload seems not effected.
Is this a bug in firmware or driver with this poor Marvell wifi chip?
Edit:
My wifi router is configured on channel 7 (2.4GHz, lower)
While connected to 5GHz (157 channel) with same router, the speed of download drops to half (about 3Mbps...)
Update:
After I configured wifi router to serve 2.4GHz wifi on channel 11 and enable coexistence 20/40 MHz (40 MHz only previously), speedtest reports 25Mbps/4Mbps (while iPhone gives 30/12).
Does channel and band really affected this chip?
I checked both channel 7 and 11 are non-exist wifi broadcasting on, this could not be wifi interference.

America. Different WiFi driver parameters in Europe where more channels are
supported than here.

2018-03-27T12:23:22+00:00 Hello Barb,
Thanks for your support.
Sadly I had to return the SB2 for an repurchase today (exchange was not possible in Switzerland).
The return was not pnly due to WiFi issues in 5G mode but also due to intermittent little freezes (mouse and keyboard, cpu hang-up?) in battery mode.
Concerning WiFi, a German Youtube blogger (German language only) sees similar issues as we do in 5G mode (here Link), circa starting at minute 12 of the review.
So there is definitely proof that something is out of order with SB2 15" by Microsoft.
