Surface Pro 7 WiFi says "Connected, no internet" when internet is working

Thanks for the post you've written back in March 2020. I did what you said and unfortunately, my Wi-Fi would still disconnect on a frequent basis. I was really close to giving up but told myself to continue the investigation. 

I then noticed something. Every single time the Surface Pro 7 would disconnect, my mobile phone who's also connected to the same home Wi-Fi would also disconnect at the same time. 

I then thought about connecting the Surface Pro 7 to my 5Ghz internet connection instead of using the 2.4Ghz like I used too and since then ... NO MORE FRICKEN RANDOM DISCONNECTS!!!!

Working with the Surface Pro 7 without having to fricken manually connect to the Wi-Fi 4-5 times an hour is absolutely amazing!

I'm not a tech guy and don't know the reason why it works but it did for me.

In my case none of several phones or other devices in home network was disconnecting, just the Surface.

Glad network separation works for you, bear in mind however that 5GHz effective range is much shorter than 2.4, so if you have larger home and need to move for example between floors, this solution may have its drawbacks.

Surface seems to have design issues within power saving features. Another problem with it is display getting stuck (frozen) from time to time, which can be resolved by pressing power off and on again. As you may find on the Internet, this issue can be remediated by disabling panel self refresh power saving option in Intel Graphics Command Center.

That's so bad that premium device, like Surface Pro, is having such basic issues! Otherwise is very handy and I like it.

I have the same issues as you all mentioned earlier. I can't seem to connect. I need to restart and try again  in order to get it connected.  My other laptop are ok. It is not the wifi.

We've just started with a surface pro 7.  I tried the different wifi options similar to previously described here. I got desperate and have tried an adapter through the USB C port to be able to connect an ethernet cable directly into the router.

All was fine.  My wife uses the computer for teaching (due to covid lockdown).  Part way through the teams lesson she got a message up in teams saying no internet.  the blue light was on the router, internet definitely there.  We quickly disconnected the cable and it connected via wifi.

Any ideas?  its all very wobbly to say the least.  I've had many actual laptops as I work from home and never had this kind of issue.  I wouldnt say also my work gives us the best kit certaintly not in the region of how much a surface pro 7 costs.

on the web loads of people seem to have various similar issues.  One web site was talking about MAC filtering (bit beyond me).

I had the same issue and thought it was my router but it wasn't. All I had to do to fix this was to update my driver software and the problem was solved. I don't honestly remember where the driver is located but I would seriously recommend trying this first.
