Surface Pro 7 WiFi says "Connected, no internet" when internet is working

Re: the router, what are the odds that this behavior would occur on two different routers and networks? I doubt the routers are the culprit since no other Wifi enabled devices dropout like this.

It's not necessarily the router that's the 'culprit', but rather the combination of the router and the Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi interoperability is a finicky thing (back in the days when laptops were first getting Wi-Fi, Intel poured a tonne of money into its "Centrino" brand which included interoperability testing, because the combination of somedevices often failed to work properly, even though most did.)

That's why knowing the router is important for Microsoft to troubleshoot the problem, because without having the problematic router, it might not be able to reproduce the problem you're having with the Wi-Fi on the Surface.

Sad to hear issue applies to you as well. Please look for resolution I posted earlier in this thread - in March 2020.

I'm having the exact same issues like many users have mentioned previously.

The WiFi would randomly disconnect ... It just doesn't make sense because all my other devices don't have that problem and when the SP7 WiFi is disconnected, all the other following devices are still connected to my home wireless network and work perfectly.

• Work Laptop
• Another personal laptop
• Cellphone

It's big time frustrating because I thought I was the only one who had this problem and according to this message board, it's clearly not the case. 

Every single time the SP7 will disconnect, I will try to reconnect to my home network and I get the following message: Can't connect to network.

The only way to fix this is to click on the troubleshooting button and reset the network WiFi adapter.

I will still give the SP7 a chance but honestly, highly thinking about returning it and get another laptop.

Hello all, I have just changed my wife's sp7 as she was having issues yesterday on her school zoom meeting. I will report back if it happens again. Thanks Adam...

I totally hear you about being at wits end! connecting to the internet should be a solved problem on a new machine in 2020.  Did you also disable the "idle power saving and energy-efficient Ethernet" setting as also suggested by AdamC? That's what did the trick for me. I wish i had more for you but at least know there is at least one other person out there who has felt exactly what you are going through.
