constant PFN_LIST_CORRUPT BSOD on surface pro 7

I have a surface pro 7 that I use 90% of the time for taking notes. I've noticed that about once every week, immediately after using the camera in Onenote for Windows 10 I get a PFN_LIST_CORRUPT blue screen. This happens when onenote is syncing with onedrive, after the camera app has shut down. This doesn't occur every time I use the camera, and so far I have only seen this BSOD while using onenote.     Okay, so let's try to find out why we have that problem and others don't.

    Have you added a work or school account?

    Did you install any of the following:

    • Microsoft Teams
    • Google Chrome
    • EdgeDeflector
    • Microsoft Office

    If you use Chrome, did you change any of the flags there?

    Do you use OneNote for Windows 10? If yes, with a work or school account or with a private one?

    @AndrésSánchez5, I'd appreciate it if you could answer these questions despite having returned the Surface months ago, thanks.

    So after several months of silence I have returned to this thread.

    20h2, if anything, has made this problem even worse. Right now I get this BSOD every one out of five times I use the camera.

    for those of you surface users still on 1909 or earlier I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you to avoid updating to 2004 or later if you are reliant on the camera.

    Hi DanielYu3,

    Could you answer the questions in my previous posts? It would be super useful because this has got to be an issue related to something in software, as it happens on replacement devices too, but not to everyone. It would help isolating the issue to fix it.

    I installed all of the apps you listed, except for edge deflector. I used OneNote. I use it both with a school account and a private account.

    I think its unlikely its a high level software issue?? I feel like its is more likely a firmware issue. Maybe some of the surface pro 7s use a slightly different camera model or something, so the firmware isnt working.

    That would be a possibility, but considering the replacement devices that didn't fix it, it would be pretty bad luck. Did you buy your original device from Microsoft directly? If yes, it could be explained with the devices all being from the same faulty batch.

    If not, it's got to have something to do with some piece of software or really, really, really bad luck.
