Battery drain issue

Hi all,

I just got a Surface Pro 7 and became a part of Surface community.

I have a quick question. How long does your Surface Pro 7 battery last?

I saw several posts and comments on the battery drain issue, but I'd like to know whether the battery problem is only to a specific model (i5 or i7), or just seen in some devices.

Because I feel my Surface Pro barely works for 4~5 hours (Wifi with google docs, or simple work, etc.) not up to 10.5 hours. On the ads, it clearly says 'All-day battery life' & up to 10.5 hours of typical device usage. I tried some recommendations from other posts, but so far no luck here. 

So, I'd like to know whether you have a similar problem or successfully managed the problem.

QUICK TIP 1 of 2: As many are saying, they are having this issue, it is not just Surface devices, with all the updates installed, when shutting down are you letting the machine really shut down? another words a good tip is to press the FN ( FUNCTION KEY) and or CAPS LOCK and let the LED LIGHT TURN OFF then you know your machine is fully turned off.

QUICK TIP 2 of 2: Since Surface is a portable device, lets also check and see what apps are running in the background. Let's navigate to .....

Settings (Or type background... In the search bar) --> Privacy --> Left hand side, Scroll down to Background Apps --> Toggle all the apps that you do not need to run in the background

My pro 7 i7 barely makes 2-3 hours without any heavy use...

VERY VERY disappointing product.

I've had my Surface Pro 7 (i7, 16 ram, 256 ssd) for 8 months and get 7.5 to 8.5 hours of continuous YouTube viewing at 40%-50% brightness, Wifi on, power mode on battery saver, and Bluetooth off. After every update, I test my battery life and if it decreased, I uninstill that particular update. It is a major hassle, but it is also the only way I am able to keep my SP7's battery life at an acceptable level.

This **** right here. I am so fed up with this horriblenbattery life just from casual webbrowsing or drawing. I get 2 hours of drawing and 3 hours of surfing, this is so unacceptable and makes me regret buying a surface product a yeae ago. Plus mine is already the warranty replacement, it came with more mwh than it was designed for, but it was still terrible battery life. I dont understand, with the teardown videos on youtube there clearly is enough space for a bigger battery. And i doubt the new surface pro 7 get 15 hours, thats bs, probably a 320p video playback. I should have stayed on building my own PC.
