Battery drain issue

-> Use Throttlestop in the FIVR section to undervolt the CPU try with -100mV  <-

For the undervolt continue lowering the voltage until it is not stable. Same for the iGPU start with -50mV and test until it is not stable.

Make sure your battery is in low power mode when disconnecting it from the AC to ensure the longest battery life.

Hi MSP2020,

I have read thru this entire process and trying to figure how this is going to actually help with the battery issue(s)? What is the reasoning behind this potential help/fix in your opinion? Or is there a tech webpage that you came across that directs you to this process to help with the battery issue(s)? Just trying to wrap my head around this and really understand how this would provide better battery life.

No problem.  Found this as a recommendation for improving the surface pro's battery life. If files are corrupted they will increase battery drain.  I ran the program and it identified and fix several corrupted files.  Just passing along anything I locate on the internet that might be useful to people.

Thanks for the quick reply and pointing out the info. I figured that would be the reasoning, but wondered if there were other points. 

I ran the all on my unit... SFC found errors and corrected it on the first run and I ran it 2 mores times, and no issues. 

As for DISM, all was perfect with no issues. 

I did revert to an older Firmware, 17763 from MS Website, I see no difference at all. This just makes me think, they are not working on this issue. Nor have I found anything to say the contrary on the web or forums. 

If they got 10.5 hrs on an i3 or i5 machine and they just can't get that with an i7 unit, MS should just come clean about this.

As I mentioned before, we should be getting 6/7 hours out of the box, not 4/5 hrs max and thats on battery saver mode with everything shut off... ridiculous...
