Battery drain issue

Hi all,

I just got a Surface Pro 7 and became a part of Surface community.

I have a quick question. How long does your Surface Pro 7 battery last?

I saw several posts and comments on the battery drain issue, but I'd like to know whether the battery problem is only to a specific model (i5 or i7), or just seen in some devices.

Because I feel my Surface Pro barely works for 4~5 hours (Wifi with google docs, or simple work, etc.) not up to 10.5 hours. On the ads, it clearly says 'All-day battery life' & up to 10.5 hours of typical device usage. I tried some recommendations from other posts, but so far no luck here. 

So, I'd like to know whether you have a similar problem or successfully managed the problem.

    Same battery is so weak ..feels like laptop was better . 4 -5 hrs in streaming videos

    I'm having a similar experience. When I first got it, the battery lasted longer. Now it feels like 4 - 5 hours on a fully charged battery.

    I use the "Pure Battery" app from the Windows store. It is excellent.

    Hi

    I have bought a surface pro7(i5, ram8,SSD 128)for 6 months, at first its battery was really perfect but one month ago while I was working with Microsoft project software suddenly I found out that my battery is draining very fast. Then, my battery life became 5 to 6 hours at last. I have tested many suggestions but none of them was helpful and I am still shocked, why? Why this happened? I have checked my battery's health by many apps and all of them have shown 100 percent health, so what is wrong? I want a real help and answer from Microsoft kind team because my warranty has not expired and this is not a software issue I want to change my machine.

    I got rid of mine and got a HP Spectre x360 11th gen i7 on the promise that it does 12-14hrs (it doesn't - again, about 5 hours of real world use)

    The grim reality is this - battery stats from manufacturers and even reviewers measure battery life on the basis of minimal talks rather than real world work. Imagine if car manufacturers gave fuel efficiency stats on the basis of a parked car with the engine running!

    Actually using a laptop as intended - with wi-fi on, accessing email, a little editing, using office and Google workspace and the odd zoom meeting, I've never found a Windows laptop to give much more than 6 hours.

    When I travel and use it to read or watch a film with flight mode on, yes a laptop will tend to do to 9-10 hours.

    Frankly it's mainly an Intel issue - they just can't seem to make power efficient cores, but might up their game with the new Macbooks, and on the other hand Windows is very bulky and inefficient because it's made for a thousand and one laptops and other machines.

    Having spent years trying to get Windows laptops to get the battery life they advertise, the only thing I can say is to put the power plan on settings to best efficient and always use battery saver. Keep the screen brightness low and close any applications you're not using.
