Battery drain issue

Hi all,

I just got a Surface Pro 7 and became a part of Surface community.

I have a quick question. How long does your Surface Pro 7 battery last?

I saw several posts and comments on the battery drain issue, but I'd like to know whether the battery problem is only to a specific model (i5 or i7), or just seen in some devices.

Because I feel my Surface Pro barely works for 4~5 hours (Wifi with google docs, or simple work, etc.) not up to 10.5 hours. On the ads, it clearly says 'All-day battery life' & up to 10.5 hours of typical device usage. I tried some recommendations from other posts, but so far no luck here. 

So, I'd like to know whether you have a similar problem or successfully managed the problem.

    Hi, Could you please advise me on the way to remove the driver/firmware update, SurfacePro7_Win10? I've been searching around quite a while but still couldn't find the way to do it.

    Too be clear as much as possible, lets power on your machine and login, then navigate to to device manager via Windows + X (Right click on the start button / Windows Logo ---> click on device manager) once at device manager you can uninstall any Firmware / driver that you might have issues with, please reply me with more information in regards to which and or what exactly is your issue with your compute unit.

    Thank you for your response! I just bought a new Surface Pro 7 and my battery drains really fast. It would drop by 1% after 3 minutes of watching Youtube (and much more when working with Zoom). I saw that some people suggest deleting the drive/firmware SurfacePro7_Win10_18362_ 20.014.39957.0.msi helps, but I couldn't find it on device manager. Right now, what appears in my Firmware tab on Device Manager are: Surface ME, PD controller, Pen Cfu Over Ble LC connection, Storage Firmware Update, System Aggregator, Touch Firmware and UEFI.

    Lets Navigate to the follow URL @ Microsoft:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/download-drivers-and-firmware-for-surface-09bb2e09-2a4b-cb69-0951-078a7739e120 

    From there scroll down and select your surface model, Surface Pro 7 in this case you can install older firmware on top of the current firmware and rollback to the older firmware / drivers, reach out if you need help.

    NOTE: Remember to backup all your files and whatever data that you have first.

    Thanks for your instruction! I think I will test my Surface Pro 7 for a few days, if the battery still drains fast, then I will ask for exchange. Right now it lasts for about 6 hours .

    No problem, glad I could help also you might to check to see what background apps are running and turn them off if not needed.
