Battery drain issue

Hi all,

I just got a Surface Pro 7 and became a part of Surface community.

I have a quick question. How long does your Surface Pro 7 battery last?

I saw several posts and comments on the battery drain issue, but I'd like to know whether the battery problem is only to a specific model (i5 or i7), or just seen in some devices.

Because I feel my Surface Pro barely works for 4~5 hours (Wifi with google docs, or simple work, etc.) not up to 10.5 hours. On the ads, it clearly says 'All-day battery life' & up to 10.5 hours of typical device usage. I tried some recommendations from other posts, but so far no luck here. 

So, I'd like to know whether you have a similar problem or successfully managed the problem.

    Not sure what your point is? Does MBA have a touchscreen or pen support? Is it a 2-in1 design or a hybrid computer-tablet?  It has a bigger battery, correct?  Also, I get 14-15 hours on my 360x HP Spectre and it has a touch screen, pen support, microSD slot, HDMI port, face recognition, 2-in-1 design, etc. but you don't see me comparing it to a computer-tablet.  As I have stated many times on the discussion board, I have purchased three S7s (two i5s and an i7) and everyone has gotten at least 7 hours of continuous YouTube viewing at 50% brightness with battery saver on.

    I actually have both devices and 4-5 hours on Surface Pro 7 is max you can get on a dimmed screen with power saving turned on when on M1 macbook air i am able to work like 13-16 hours without even thinking about the battery ;) Just like Thomas wrote - great device but battery... it's damn joke.

    I am not sure what you are talking about. I am also getting about 4, for basic office tasks on my SP7. I have been very disappointed. Great device but absolutely garbage battery life.

    Not sure what you are talking about.  My SP7 gets over 8 hours of continuous YouTube viewing at 50% brightness with battery saver on.  As for the M1 chip, it is seriously over-hyped and has made MBs on par with, not better than, Windows laptops ( https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/all-day-strong-longest-lasting-notebooks ).  Finally, please let me know when Apple makes a computer-table hybrid or even a 2-in-1 like MS, Dell, Lenovo, ASUS, Huawei, etc.  Otherwise, no point in bring Apple and their 20th-century hardware into the conservation.

    I have a surface pro 6 without any battery life issue. I wanted to upgrade and I didn't get the surface pro 7 after reading the reviews of poor battery life. I waited to get the surface pro 7+ with the 11th gen of intel i7, as it was supposed to fix the battery life issue. What a disappointment! Very poor battery life. I don't get 4 hours with light use. I guess, Microsoft needs to catch up with Apple and install M1 or ARM chips, as Intel are battery hogs
