Battery drain issue

Hi all,

I just got a Surface Pro 7 and became a part of Surface community.

I have a quick question. How long does your Surface Pro 7 battery last?

I saw several posts and comments on the battery drain issue, but I'd like to know whether the battery problem is only to a specific model (i5 or i7), or just seen in some devices.

Because I feel my Surface Pro barely works for 4~5 hours (Wifi with google docs, or simple work, etc.) not up to 10.5 hours. On the ads, it clearly says 'All-day battery life' & up to 10.5 hours of typical device usage. I tried some recommendations from other posts, but so far no luck here. 

So, I'd like to know whether you have a similar problem or successfully managed the problem.

QUICK TIP 1 of 2: As many are saying, they are having this issue, it is not just Surface devices, with all the updates installed, when shutting down are you letting the machine really shut down? another words a good tip is to press the FN ( FUNCTION KEY) and or CAPS LOCK and let the LED LIGHT TURN OFF then you know your machine is fully turned off.

QUICK TIP 2 of 2: Since Surface is a portable device, lets also check and see what apps are running in the background. Let's navigate to .....

Settings (Or type background... In the search bar) --> Privacy --> Left hand side, Scroll down to Background Apps --> Toggle all the apps that you do not need to run in the background

You may have to selectively remove non-security updates. Check out Chris Titus videos on Windows debloating. Also, google, "Ultimate Tips to Max Out Microsoft Surface Battery Life". I have post stuff on this discussion board.  Also, here are some other things I did:

System File Checker is a utility in Windows 10 that checks for problems with files on your computer. To run it, follow these steps:

• Make sure you've installed the latest updates for Windows 10, and then restart your machine. To find out more, read Update Windows 10.
• In the search box on the taskbar, type Command Prompt, and right-click or press and hold Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the list of results. Select Run as administrator, and then selectYes.
• Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the space before each "/"), and then press Enter. (**Note:**This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete.)
• After you see a message that says "The operation completed successfully," type sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/") and press Enter.
• After you see a message that says, "Verification 100% complete," type exit.

What I am talking about is what I say. I get great battery life and have purchased 3 SP7s, two i5s and an i7.  Gave the i5s away as presents after 6 months of use.  Hence, I am extremely happy with the product.  Does that clarify things with you? Also, instead of complaining on discussion boards, I did a lot of research on how to optimize my SP7 and Windows for best performance and battery life and have shared those efforts on this discussion board...

Not sure what your point is? Does MBA have a touchscreen or pen support? Is it a 2-in1 design or a hybrid computer-tablet?  It has a bigger battery, correct?  Also, I get 14-15 hours on my 360x HP Spectre and it has a touch screen, pen support, microSD slot, HDMI port, face recognition, 2-in-1 design, etc. but you don't see me comparing it to a computer-tablet.  As I have stated many times on the discussion board, I have purchased three S7s (two i5s and an i7) and everyone has gotten at least 7 hours of continuous YouTube viewing at 50% brightness with battery saver on.
