Surface Headphones 2 Battery Issue

I have the surface headphones 2 and the battery is only charging to 17 hours. Even after a full charge and no use. It shows the same 17 hours on the surface audio app. I have already tried to update firmware but no updates available. Also I returned my first pair and this second pair are doing the same thing. Anyone have a resolution? Is this a known issue?

Ok I have the solution which was provided by Windows Central Daniel Rabino. You have to turn off the Aptx audio in setting to get the full 20 hours to show in the audio app. The app and headphones now show 20 hours when fully charged. we can close this out.

    Hi, iron_mike!

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your concerns. We are sorry to learn you still have issues with your 2nd Surface Headphones 2 that shows up to 17 hours of battery life when you charged it. Thanks for taking the time to let us know about this and allowing us to help you out. I believe you made sure to charge it up to 2 hours and you still see 17 hours. If I may ask, what is the host device that you use?

Since you updated the firmware of the headphones, have you tried to check if there's an update needed for the Surface Audio app and the host device?

After that, please check this page to help Fix problems with using your Surface Headphones and select Surface Headphones 2 when asked to select the product version.

Let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Janette_Z

    Hi Jannette,

I have tried all available fixes for this device. Yes, I did charge the battery for at least 2 hours and the LED light stopped flashing which means the battery if fully charged.

Host device Surface app is updated

    No firmware update available

    Battery was fully charged

    Factory Reset

Happening on 2 different units (Returned first unit)

Called Surface Support - No known issue recorded and no fix available

Can this be escalated to a internal support team for Surface hardware?

    Hi, iron_mike!

Thanks for mentioning the steps you took. Can you share the screenshot where you see the hours remaining on your battery after charging it for 2 hours?

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    Janette_Z

    Janette,

I have provided a few screenshots to show what I am seeing. I also provided a picture of the LED notification light sold which should mean battery is fully charged. This time when i charged it only went up to 16 hours.
