Battery drain overnight while shutdown

Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully charged Surface Laptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What's going on and how can I fix this? 

The laptop is only about 6 months old and the battery seems to be in good health.

    Shutting down, while plugged in, at a full charge seems to be the factor for me. Shutting down after being on battery does not seem to cause the issue.

    Have you noticed any drop if you shut off your device at less than 100%? 

    For instance, what if you shut it off again after it starts up around 75%, does it then start at 50% next time?

    So far I’m not seeing that happen. Understanding exactly what conditions trigger this issue may help in solving it.

    I can confirm that this is not actually an "overnight" problem.

    All I have to do is take my fully charged laptop. Shutdown. Unplug. Wait even 10 minutes and start it up again to find the charge showing around 75%.
