Surface Pro 6 Runs Slower in Dock

My Surface Pro 6 runs noticeably slower when it is connected to the dock. I have a dock at both home and work and see the same reduced performance in both places. This is not a new issue (unlikely related to a recent Win or other software update). Both docks were originally purchased for use with my previous Surface Pro 4 device.

Does anyone else notice such a pattern?

Any thoughts on what might be causing this and how to fix it?

  • Surface Pro 6, i7, 16gb
  • Win 10 10.0.17763 Build 17763
  • >300GB of 500GB hard drive are free

I don't see any obvious issues when looking at Task Manager. CPU, memory and internet are all lightly utilized.

Thanks much for any thoughts.

What driver date and version is the reinstalled version?

Mine, which was installed during a Windows refresh in June, is:

    Date: 6/21/2006

    Version: 10.0.18362.1

In my case driver version was the same before and after reinstalling this device. I guess it's not about the driver version but perhaps some relation with other drivers or system components.

It didn't work for me. Did you reboot before scanning for new hardware?

    Thanks.

Nope, I didn't. So you still face 0,4 GHz throttling?
