My Surface Pro 6 runs noticeably slower when it is connected to the dock. I have a dock at both home and work and see the same reduced performance in both places. This is not a new issue (unlikely related to a recent Win or other software update). Both docks were originally purchased for use with my previous Surface Pro 4 device.
Does anyone else notice such a pattern?
Any thoughts on what might be causing this and how to fix it?

- Win 10 10.0.17763 Build 17763
- >300GB of 500GB hard drive are free
I don't see any obvious issues when looking at Task Manager. CPU, memory and internet are all lightly utilized.

2019-08-28T19:15:20+00:00 I've noticed that when the CPU throttles down to 0.4 GHz and "sticks" there, if I'm plugged into the dock, with the surface connector, unconnecting it un-sticks the CPU throttling. Since I started tracking the times it's throttled, I believe all have been while in the dock. Maybe some while on power, but none that I can think of while on battery. Also, I rarely use external monitors so I don't think that is an issue.

2019-08-28T19:05:53+00:00 It is already confirmed that the slowdown issue is related to the CPU throttling scenario, so I wouldn't be searching for any external monitors related problems. But anyway, answering your question - I'm using LG 27UD68 LED 4K IPS connected with Surface Dock via DisplayPort.

I have had the same issue and I have been experimenting with settings. I think the issue is actually graphics driver related. I run 2 extended screens from my dock and both are 1920x1080 resolution. By setting the surface itself to the same resolution I have found the slowdown has gone. However as soon as I revert it to the usual resolution it slows down again.
