There is no fix yet and most probably the best fix would be to buy SP7 when it's out :) The best fix for MS of course.
Surface Pro 6 Runs Slower in Dock
My Surface Pro 6 runs noticeably slower when it is connected to the dock. I have a dock at both home and work and see the same reduced performance in both places. This is not a new issue (unlikely related to a recent Win or other software update). Both docks were originally purchased for use with my previous Surface Pro 4 device.
Does anyone else notice such a pattern?
Any thoughts on what might be causing this and how to fix it?
- Surface Pro 6, i7, 16gb
- Win 10 10.0.17763 Build 17763
- >300GB of 500GB hard drive are free
I don't see any obvious issues when looking at Task Manager. CPU, memory and internet are all lightly utilized.
Thanks much for any thoughts.

2019-09-06T23:30:47+00:00 I have the same issue. Didn't affect my prior SP4, but does affect my current SP6.
Really slow when on docking station, CPU to 0.4 as previously described.
I notice that it occurs every time if I boot computer or wake from sleep with dock connected. I get a few minutes of lag-free use on dock if I connect the dock after the PC has already booted or awoken.
Is there any fix for this issue as yet?
Do fans on the dock work as mentioned above?
Any else?
TIA,
Ari

on what a Microsoft MVP is, see https://mvp.microsoft.com/en-us/Overview and for
Volunteer Moderators see
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/page/faq#faqWhosWho1 - I have been begging
Microsoft for information on the throttling issue, the battery issues, etc. etc.
- and asking them to post official acknowledgements and status. I can't do
anything more than that.

2019-08-30T19:57:43+00:00 Oh... cool! Thanks for letting me know. So basically, this is typical Microsoft. One **** update with "some keyboard fix" and no still no update for a throttling problem, that has been here for months. Sometimes I do wonder - how comes they can make a new Surface device each year, but they can't fix a simple CPU governor issue for months. They don't give a **** about customers who already made a purchase or they hire **** developers? Or both?
