I couldn't agree more. I've replaced this two times and I really don't want to exchange my SP4 again due to the amount of hassle it will bring. Except, I may have to because I was foolish enough to listen to an employee's suggestion to just stick with an
Core i5 and 4GB RAM, saying that it can handle all my educational needs.
I'm sorry, but that's the LAST time anyone but me is the judge of how much power I need. I voice record class lectures that are 3 hours long, while keeping multiple PowerPoint files open, OneNote to jot notes as well as Chrome and Microsoft Edge at the same
time. My recordings won't save all the way and would actually crash the SP4, sensor is not the best and I can't help but scoff at the SP4 ads I see on websites on how superior and powerful the tablet is. My MacBook Pro Retina can do that and more, and I'm
willing to bet that it can beat the Surface Book. Plus, I have classes right after each other, lasting 7 hours a day. SP4 starts with 100%, tricking me with "9 hours and 51 minute left", to 64%, "4 hours 30 minutes left" in a mere two hours - my MacBook can
handle everything and still be 80%, 8 hours and good to go. However, I really don't want to be lugging a 5LB laptop, books and water (water is heavy, mind you) everyday.
I will have to say, the times that it works, it's a godsend but it doesn't justify the 80% of the time where it doesn't function like how a $1,000 unit should. Other than that, I will probably invest in an iPad Pro the next time around.
