Hi Guys,
I've always appreciated the good quality of Surface laptops so I decided to purchase a new Surface Laptop 3 in the autumn of 2019 directly from the online Microsoft Store.
I did not realize the weird noise from the beginning but when I did that, after 3 months I believed it's nothing serious. But hearing that weird noise more and more and seeming to be an electric noise I requested a device replacement on my Microsoft account.
Once I got the replacement I was very happy figuring out that it looks like a new/improved version because it was way heavier than the first one. So when I held it in one hand it did not make the same mechanical noise of plastic like it was with the original device, so obviously some plastic parts have been replaced with metalic parts. So I definitely hoped that also the issue with the weird electric noise will be solved now.
But that was not the case, time by time I realized that the electric noise hears almost permanently also on the replacement device.
I contacted Microsoft by chat and by phone a couple of times and they always said the same thing, that they are not aware of this issue at all and the only thing that they can do is to offer me a second free replacement since my device is still in warranty period. I insisted to them that this looks like a general issue and I want to be fully refunded but they did not accept that. So I decided to not accept a new replacement because I definitely believe that the 3rd laptop would have the same issue and will be even older than what I have now.
I've read all the discussions here on this topic but I could not figure out whether this noise could become dangerous.
Does anybody know whether this noise is dangerous?
Could it provoke any damage to the device's hardware or even worse, could it make the device to explode?
Many thanks in advance for your replies!
