Surface Pro 6 i7 1TB Battery Drain from 100% to 74% when turned off

I seem to be plagued by a battery drain issue with the Surface Pro 6.

Here is a quick rundown:

7/6/19 I bought a Surface Pro 6 i7 1TB. This device turned out to have a defective screen so I took it in for a replacement on 7/27.

7/27/19 I am assigned (what I later discovered was a refurbished unit) a replacement unit. A few days after that I started to notice that when I leave it at 100% at night, unplug it, go to bed, and when I wake up in the morning it would only have 74% o 75% battery left! Also when it is 100% and I unplug it, take it with me to work, by the time I reach my office about 45 minutes later then turn it on it only has 74 to 75% battery left! I was able to observe this multiple times. I tried several troubleshooting steps to no success. I am not using hello cortana face unlock or anything fancy.

8/15/19 I went to a Microsoft Store to ask them to take a look at the battery drain issue, and they said they saw nothing wrong and suggested I factory reset the unit which I did when I got home! But the following day the same issue appeared! 

8/16/19 I went back to the Microsoft Store and told them the issue has not gone away. They issued me a brand new Surface replacement. At last I thought that was the end of the issue. I left the unit charging overnight, and this morning it was showing 100%. Out of curiosity I wanted to find out if this unit would have the same issue so I turned off the device at 100%, unplugged it, then left it for a couple of hours. When I turned it back on the battery was showing 74%!!

At this point I don't even know what to do. If anyone has a solution to this problem please share, otherwise I have no choice but to make another trip to the Microsoft Store for a possible fourth replacement.

    Same problems with my SP6 i7 (8 months old) and my Laptop 2 i7 (less than a month old). Both show the same issue. Loses 26% of battery within 20 - 30 minutes of being turned off. 

    9/3/19 Tried online text support and got the runaround and then got disconnected and MS made no effort to reconnect even though they had my email and phone #. Called in and while it was a bit better denied knowing about the issue.

    Made an appointment to go into the NYC 5th Ave store. They were 20 minutes late for the appointment but at least they acknowledged the problem. Assured me that it was not a hardware problem but they didn't know when the software fix would be released.

    My power pack failed while I was in the store (really) and they just replaced it free of charge. They may be screwing up the software but their hardware support has been excellent. I have had every version of the Surface Pro i7 since the start. The SP battery bulged so they replaced it free with a SP5 i7. As I didn't want the SP5 but wanted the SP6 I Ebayed the 5 and bought the SP 6 i7 16gb 1tb. My type cover was tatty so they replaced it free. So MS is standing behind their product. I just make sure I have my charger with me when I an out of the office. Not ideal but I love my Surface Pro so I roll with it.

    I too have started experiencing this problem.  Like others, the 25% battery drop only seems to occur when my SP6 (i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) is completely shut down.  I will shut the machine down while it is still plugged in and with the battery charged to 100%.  If I then disconnect the A/C (either directly from the SP6 or indirectly via my official Surface dock), by the time Windows boots (~10 seconds) - the battery has dropped 25%.  The latency period between unplugging the computer and then booting it back into the Windows environment doesn't appear to matter - I've tried everything from waiting overnight to immediately booting after disconnecting the A/C.

    I really hope Microsoft figures this out soon.  I'm already using a Warranty replacement after my last machine experienced numerous unexplained BSODs.  The truly sad part is that I have an additional SP6 for work (i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) that doesn't exhibit ANY of the problems I've had with my "top-of-the-line" personal one.  The thing runs like a dream. Not sure exactly what the difference is.

    The truly sad part is that I have an additional SP6 for work (i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) that doesn't exhibit ANY of the problems I've had with my "top-of-the-line" personal one

    are they both running the same build of Windows and is the work computer running
    Pro or Enterprise? can you run

    winver

    on both and report back?

    I charged it to 100%, then unplugged it and go to school. It's just a 20-mininute trip and  the battery went down to 74% ...
