Surface Pro 3 Wavy diagonal lines when inking

Several posts have been deleted from this thread, including a great post by ScottVigil on February 27th. I sitll have it in my email, so either he deleted it himself or MS deleted it. Either way, I'm fairly certain there isn't going to be an official response to this thread, since it's been ignored for nearly two years now.

Ibeas hoping that my post would be helpful. I did not remove it. I love my surfacebook but I really think the stylus has a way to go, its manageable, but my older enabled helix 1 is way wleisier to draw on. The sceen tho on the surfacebook is incredible and I love the high resolution.

1. Please fix wavy diagonals and dont delete this post.2. Please allow hover right click like you can on wacom its literally twice as easy.
2. Please have a rocker or two EASY TO PRESS buttonsby the tip that can be programmable to whatever. I use them for space a, alt, control undo depending on my program
3. If you want bonis points for all serious artists also provide tilt sensitivity

For those of you suffering wavy lines some help can be from lazymouse plug-ins. Krita and manga studio and zbrush have this built in along with tvpaont. Search my name and concept art if you want to see how i draw with a surfacebook

Hey this is StevieB, working on it… we noticed this happening in a very specific instance. Likely when you draw really slow and across the diagonal of the screen… so it is quote a specific instance specific. It is really hard to a draw a straight line without the use of a ruler or the digitizer picking up the jitter in your hands… so that is why people use a ruler to do this test.. but the ruler messes up the signal as it capacitivly couples . Most touch sensors are oriented as a grid, when you draw across the diagonal the touch controller has to interpolate position of the pen and linearize its path. As for active capacitive digitizer we’re the best out there! But we can do better. One of the improvement just involves boosting the voltage of the pen. So I cannot give you a timeline, but just know things are in the hopper. Other digitizer techs have other artifacts and issues, they don’t do linearization as well, and have accuracy issues. Pen is really important to us, and our best people are really focused on making and maintaining it to be awesome and the most realistic digital pen experience in any tablet!

sorry, but your answer is ridicules.

Don't tell this happens in a "very specific instance" - this is untrue.

This happens *all the time* when you do slow strokes like when you are writing slowly, drawing slowly, when you try to hit tiny things like drawers and window resize borders, when you try to exactly trace something etc.

People SHOW it to MS in a specific way so it is that obvious, not even Microsoft can claim it is not there.

But it is people like you that drives MS friends like me away from this community and in the end away from MS. Giving canned answers that *completely* miss the OTs issue is one part (not yours), telling people their problem is not as big as they feel it every single day is another one.

If I did my job as a Sysadmin like that I could have gone home a decade ago.

It is nice that some employees at MS are working on it - if your information is right - but if they look at the problem like you do there will be no fix.

I have exactly the same problem: wavy lines when drawing. And I thank you, @t-work, for your clear statement! It cannot be that a premium device like the SP3... sorry... I mean a device like the SP3 with a premium price (!) of around 1700 EUR (that was the price 1 years ago) that cannot draw streight lines. There might be technical reasons for that but I don't care about that.

I have the feeling that the problem got worse in the last months. I have to say that I am using a new pen with new batteries and tried it with OneNote 2016, Photoshop CC 2015... all on Windows 10 with all Updates: all the same. Even normal Handwriting looks a little ugly here and there. When I compare it with results from back when I bought it, it seems to be worse now.

Hopefully you, @Microsoft, can do something. Right now I don't feel like bying a Surface (Book) again.
