I stumbled on this thread after finding no solutions to this issue decided to add my own reply.
Since last week, my external monitor has not worked (connected through a Surface dock; [mini-display to HDMI also a Microsoft product] to my SL3). It been working with the same set up at both of my offices since October witout any issues and no hardware
changes changes have been made. It makes all the right sounds as if connected and my displays are recognized 1 & 2, but the external monitor says "No HDMI signal from your device" (I used a Dell as well as a Lenovo brand new monitors). I've scoured all the
blogs and forums I can and tried all the updates for my laptop, the dock, drivers, and even bought a new monitor and new cables all to no avail. I wonder if a simple glitch has happened with updates or is there some wake up setting that isn't coming through
the dock to the external monitor anymore? I have one other dongle for a wireless mouse and a charger for my phone plugged in, both function normally.
I hope Microsoft can get a solution going for this because it's EXTREMELY frustrating and I've potentially have hundreds of dollars in useless Microsoft and other computer equipment. I have another dock at my office which I will visit tomorrow (it's been
over a week with current quarantine) and if it's doing the same thing, I'm going to bombard Microsoft with reporting issues on this because there is definitely something wrong and it needs to be addressed asap.
