I have a new windows 11 computer but i can't see the windows 10 computer on the network. The windows 10 computer on the network can see my windows 11 computer.

I have had the same issue for years - initially my Win 8.1 machine (2015) (pc #1) would talk to my old Win7 machine on the wifi network. Win97 was replaced with a 2016 Win10 machine ( pc #2), and win8.1 happy talked to Win10. But when #1 was upgraded to Win 10 (i.e both Win10), pc #1 and #2 would never talk to each other despite all being set up equally. When #1 died a few weeks ago and was replaced with pc #3, a Win11 machine, despite both being set up equally and on the same network (I have followed all the steps listed in this thread, which are the same steps as being posted in all the other forums), the ONLY way they now talk is if I turn the pcs on, AND THEN reboot the wifi router. It's not perfect, but it's a workaround solution.

In my opinion the windows networking capability is getting worse with each release.

This worked for me - on a Win10 computer on a private network, I mapped a drive to a shared folder on a Win11 computer and explicitly put the path in the Folder box: \ComputerName\Path

If I click Browse, nothing comes up.

You can try the following methods again to see if the problem can be solved:

1. Press WIN+R to bring up the run box. WIN is the key with the windows icon on the keyboard. Enter gpedit.msc in the run box and press Enter;
2. In the pop-up window, expand the directory tree on the left to the security option, as shown in the figure. (Computer Configuration-Windows Settings:Security Settings-Local Policy-Security Options);
3. Find "Accounts: Local accounts with blank passwords are only allowed to log in to the console" in the policy on the right. This policy is enabled by default; 4. Double-click to open "Account: Local accounts with blank passwords are only allowed to log in to the console", change it to "Disabled", and confirm it to take effect.

Thx for the quick detailed reply, i been trying to fix this for days myself, only thing i see different is, on my windows 10 pc it says Network 2, and on windows 11 pc says just Network, but from googling they say this dont matter, and i cant change it from Network 2 to just Network anyway, thx again for replying.

Mine is, and has always been PRIVATE. Still no discovery. I can PING and I can connect via SMB, but as far as native network discovery, still DOA.

Exact same problem, did you sort it out ? thx
