How to Recover Admin Microsoft Account with Lost MFA Access? I am the only member of my organization

Hi community,
How can I recover my Microsoft admin account? Here’s the situation:
- I enabled MFA for my admin account in my phone, using only the Microsoft Authenticator app on my iPhone.
- I lost my phone in January 2025 and did not set up a backup for the Authenticator app.
- I recently recovered my phone, but it has been reset.
- When I try to log in, it asks for a code from the Authenticator app, which I can’t provide since the app was wiped.
- The only alternative is to get help from the organization admin—but that’s me, and I can’t access my account.
What are my options for recovery? Who should I contact for assistance? I need assistance ASAP.

Based on your description, it seems you are unable to log into the Azure Portal due to an incomplete MFA process. Since your registered device for MFA is no longer available, you are unable to authenticate.
In such cases, another Global Administrator can reset MFA for your account. However, since you are the sole Global Administrator in the tenant, this qualifies as a tenant lockout scenario. To resolve this, you will need to engage the Microsoft Data Protection team via a support ticket.

If you are unable to create a support ticket through these methods, I can assist in engaging the Data Protection team for you.

- Global admin email address (affected account)
- Country
- Time Zone

Erin D'Agnese 5 Reputation points2025-12-02T21:00:46.5433333+00:00 I have this same issue with my business account and can't lodge a service case request because I can't log into my admin/business account using the MFA due to the phone being broken and my new phone not receiving the request or having the back up. The phone doesn't work, it redirects me to online sign in that loops back to the MFA issue not working. Can someone please help me reset and log in to my admin account so I can properly fix the MFA and log in options?

I need someone to disable the authenticator so I can get back in to my account. I got one call & many emails and no one has assistance since
