Limiting App Availability to Microsoft Teams Only

Hi everyone,

I deployed an app for Microsoft Teams, but it was rejected because it needs to support personal tabs for Microsoft 365 and Outlook as well. I would like to know if there is a way to ensure that my app only shows up in Microsoft Teams and not in Outlook and Microsoft 365. Is there a specific configuration or setting in the app manifest that I can use to achieve this?

Hi @Abhik Ray - If you want to limit your app to Teams only, then please use manifest version less than 1.13.

How is this an acceptable solution. Newer manifest versions will be required to be used for new features (and fixes), I would also presume that old manifest versions will (should) be deprecated in time. We have a teams app that is solely for use in 'group calls' (teams meetings) and has no logical use or function in outlook ... there must be a better way to mark an app as targetted at a specific product ??

I have found a github issue for this [ https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/msteams-docs/issues/6950 ] but that is then bumped to a forum issue [ https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/1f43389b-ca38-ed11-a81b-000d3a7dd504 ] that doesn't seem to exist

You might be better served by starting a new thread using the "Ask a question" button at the top of this page to create a new Question and include the details for your specific problem.

And I would suggest you tag it ONLY with Microsoft Teams | Development to avoid having someone from the wrong forum group picking it up.
