Customize and manage your notebooks
You can make your OneNote notebooks fit your purpose in many ways.
Change the page background
Modify the background color by choosing View and selecting Page Color.
Add lines or grids by choosing View and Rule Lines.
Save to OneDrive
Personal OneNote notebooks are automatically saved to OneDrive in both the browser and the app. To verify your sync status, right-click on any notebook in the navigation pane—this shows whether the notebook is up to date or still syncing.
Note
OneNote Class Notebooks created through Microsoft Teams or via LTI in your learning management system are saved to your school's SharePoint, not your personal OneDrive. To learn more about Class Notebooks, complete the OneNote Class Notebook module.
Share a notebook
Share your notebook with collaborators by navigating to the Share button in the top right corner. This brings up options to share the notebook or a link.
Activity
Using the OneNote notebook you created, try these:
- Make a page into a template page for a section
- Add a new page and change the background to either one of the ruled lines options or to a different color
- Change the default font for all notebooks
