Microsoft Fabric administration is the work of configuring, managing, and governing a Fabric environment so your organization can use the platform effectively and responsibly. Admins control platform-wide settings, manage how users and capacities are licensed, and put the monitoring and governance controls in place that keep the environment compliant.

Alex has 30 days. She's the new Fabric administrator at Contoso, a 1,000-person financial services company that just purchased an F64 Fabric capacity, a dedicated compute resource for running Fabric workloads across the organization. Her job is to build a production-ready Fabric environment before the go-live deadline, and five departments are waiting.

Finance needs to analyze sensitive financial data. Marketing wants to run campaign analytics. Risk requires strict access controls for compliance reporting. IT manages infrastructure. The Executive team expects real-time dashboards. Each department has different requirements, and Alex needs to configure a platform that works for all of them without compromising security or performance.

In this module, you'll learn how to administer a Fabric environment from the ground up: how to navigate the admin hierarchy, configure tenant settings, manage user licenses, and apply monitoring and governance controls.

You'll start by exploring the Fabric admin hierarchy to understand who manages what in the platform.
