Try these steps in order:
- If Kaspersky is an installed app, uninstall it first:
- Go to Start > Settings > Apps.
- Find Kaspersky in the app list.
- Select it, then choose Uninstall.
- A restart may be required.
- Make sure only one antivirus product is installed and active at a time. Running more than one antivirus or antispyware program can cause instability or unexpected restarts.
- If the file still will not delete because permission is required, the file may be protected by NTFS permissions:
- Right-click the file or folder, open Properties > Security.
- Change the permissions on the file.
- If needed, take ownership first, then grant permissions, then delete it.
- If deletion still fails, the file may be in use:
- Close any app that could be using the file.
- A file that is open by a process cannot be deleted until that process releases it.
- If the file name looks unusual, such as ending with a space or period, delete it from Command Prompt using the special path syntax:
Warning: this permanently deletes the file and bypasses normal name handling, so verify the exact path first.del "\\?\c:\<path_to_file_that contains a trailing space.txt>" - If the disk has file system corruption, run Chkdsk on the volume to correct errors.
If the goal is to remove Kaspersky completely, start with Settings > Apps > Uninstall rather than deleting files directly.
