    Hi Vishal Mahajan,

Thank you for confirming. Since the scroll bar and view settings did not resolve the issue, this may be related to how Word is rendering the document window rather than the document’s alignment itself.

Could you please confirm whether this happens in every Word document, including a new blank document, or only in one particular file? Also, are you using Word on more than one monitor?

In the meantime, please try the following:

    • In Word, select File > Options > General.
    • Under User interface options, select Optimize for compatibility.
    • Select OK, completely close Word, and then reopen it.
    • Test the document again at 190% zoom.

If the issue continues, press Windows key + R, enter winword /safe, and select OK. Then open a new blank document and check whether the same blank area and missing scroll bar appear. If Word displays correctly in Safe Mode, an add-in may be interfering with the interface.

Please also share your Word version and build from File > Account > About Word, along with a screenshot of the issue at 190% zoom if possible. Please hide any personal or document information before uploading it. Thank you so much for your understanding.

Go to File >> Options >> General >> When using multiple displays >> Optimize for compatibility. Click OK, close Word completely, then reopen your document at 190%.

This may help with the display issue you’re seeing.

    Hi ,

Save your work and close all Word windows. Press Windows + R, type winword /a, and press Enter. In that Word window, go to File > Open, open the affected document, and check the view at 190% zoom.

This temporarily bypasses Word’s usual add-ins and startup settings to help narrow down the cause.

Does the scroll bar still disappear? If so, please share a screenshot and your Word version from File > Account > About Word.

Try these checks in Word for Windows:

    1. In Word, go to File > Options > Advanced.
    2. In the Display section, make sure Show horizontal scroll bar and Show vertical scroll bar are selected, then select OK.
    3. If the scroll bar still disappears, in Windows go to Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Display, then turn Automatically hide scroll bars in Windows to Off.
    4. If the page still looks shifted with extra blank space on the left, restore the Word window:
      • Right-click the Word title bar and select Maximize.
      • Right-click the title bar again and select Restore.
    5. If zoom controls seem stuck until zooming out and back in, check the page movement mode:
      • Open the View tab.
      • If Side to Side is selected, switch to Vertical. This can restore normal zoom behavior.

These steps match the symptoms of hidden scroll bars or a Word view mode issue.
