Bing keeps changing appearance from dark or system default

For a while now, Bing keeps changing appearance from dark or system default to light almost everytime. When I click Search in the Taskbar and Trending searches, it almost always goes to a light appearance when I have appearance set to dark or system default and there is no Save appearance.

How can I keep it on dark or system default?

Hi @Jack Smook

Bing normally applies the appearance choice immediately, so there is no separate Save button.

Please open Bing directly, select the menu in the upper-right corner, expand Appearance, and choose Dark. If you prefer System default, also check Settings > Personalization > Colors in Windows and make sure Choose your mode is set to Dark. If the setting changes only when opening Trending searches from the taskbar, try clearing Bing site data in Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open edge://settings/content/all.
  2. Search for bing.com.
  3. Remove the stored Bing data.
  4. Restart Edge, sign in to Bing again, and select the preferred appearance.

Also make sure Edge itself is set to Dark under Settings > Appearance > Overall appearance, since browser appearance can be configured separately from Windows.
