    Hi JANA AKASH

If WhatsApp and other apps appear installed but will not open, and some downloads never complete, the issue may be with Microsoft Store or Windows app registration rather than the apps themselves.

    Please try:

    1. Press Windows + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter. Wait for Microsoft Store to reopen.
    2. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, select the affected app, then choose Advanced options > Repair. If that does not help, try Reset.
    3. Open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates and install all available Store updates.
    4. Run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter and install any pending Windows updates.
    5. If multiple apps are affected, open an elevated Command Prompt and run:
    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If the problem continues, please provide:

    • Your Windows 10 version (Settings > System > About)
    • Whether WhatsApp was installed from Microsoft Store or Chrome
    • Any error message when the app fails to open.

    Hope this helps.

Try these Windows 10 steps in order:

    1. Close the app completely and open it again.
      • Select the X in the upper-right corner, then reopen WhatsApp or the other app.
    2. Check for Windows updates.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • Install any available updates, then restart the PC.
    3. Update Microsoft Store.
      • Open Microsoft Store.
      • Select See more > Downloads and updates > Get updates.
      • Let Store updates finish.
    4. Repair or reset the app.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Apps & features.
      • Find WhatsApp or the affected app.
      • Select More > Advanced options.
      • First try Terminate, then open the app again.
      • If needed, use Repair or Reset.
    5. Reinstall the app from Microsoft Store.
      • In Microsoft Store, select See more > My Library.
      • Select the app and choose Install.
    6. If apps appear installed but do not open, check Windows security settings.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security.
      • Open App & browser control > Exploit protection settings.
      • Under System settings, make sure Control flow guard (CFG) is set to Use default (On).
    7. If the app keeps crashing, force it to close.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Apps & features.
      • Find the app.
      • Select More > Advanced options > Terminate.
      • Then try opening it again.
    8. If the problem is with mobile apps on Windows, check the app settings.
      • Go to Start, search for Apps & features.
      • Find the app and select More > Advanced options.
      • Review notifications, permissions, and storage.

If WhatsApp is installed but stuck and still does not open after these steps, reinstalling the app from Microsoft Store is the supported next step.
