If the Wi‑Fi icon is missing in Windows 11, use this order:
- Check whether Wi‑Fi is available in Start > Settings > Network & Internet.
- If Wi‑Fi is missing there, the adapter may not be available in Windows.
- Turn Airplane mode on and back off.
- Go to Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane mode.
- Turn Airplane mode On, then Off.
- Select Wi‑Fi and make sure Wi‑Fi is On.
- Force restart the PC.
- Select Start > Power > Shut down.
- Wait a moment.
- Then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
- Check Device Manager for the Wi‑Fi adapter.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters.
- If the Wi‑Fi adapter is listed, uninstall and reinstall it:

- Open the Driver tab.

- If no Wi‑Fi networks appear, try basic connection checks:

- Move closer to the router.
- Make sure the Wi‑Fi password is correct.
- If both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks appear, try the other one.
- Try another trusted Wi‑Fi network.
- If Wi‑Fi still does not work, connect another way and install updates.
- Use Ethernet if the PC has a port.
- If internet is available, install the latest Windows and Surface updates from Windows Update.
- If internet is not available, use another PC to download the driver package to a USB drive, copy it to the device, and install it.
- If no Wi‑Fi networks are listed during setup, advanced recovery is to reinstall the Wi‑Fi adapter driver from the device manufacturer.
- Download the driver on another device.
- Copy it to a USB flash drive.
- The .inf file must be in the root of the flash drive, not in a subfolder.
