If you want to compare columns A and B and highlight the larger number in each row, use Conditional Formatting.
For column A, use this formula:
=A1>B1
For column B, use this formula:
=B1>A1
Apply each rule to the appropriate column range, for example A1:A100 and B1:B100. Set the desired highlight format for each rule. If A and B are equal, neither cell will be highlighted.
If your data starts on a different row, such as row 2, use:
=A2>B2
=B2>A2
