    Hello,

Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Additional Settings. (OR) Require Sign-in.

On the 'If you've been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again?' option, set it to Never.

    Also, check the Screensaver settings.

    • Search for Screensaver in the Search bar on the taskbar and click Enter.
    • Ensure the screen saver is set to (none), clear the 'On resume, display logon screen' check box, and then click Apply and OK.

    Try these checks in order:

    1. Restart the PC once Temporary sign-in glitches can cause repeated prompts after returning to the desktop. If updates are pending, use Update and restart.
    2. Check whether the device is locking and requiring sign-in again Since this happens after a short break, the sign-in prompt is often triggered when Windows returns from an idle state or lock screen.
    3. If using Windows Hello PIN or biometrics, test with the account password in Safe Mode Safe Mode only allows password sign-in, not PIN or biometrics. If sign-in works there, the issue is less likely to be caused by basic drivers or default settings.
      • On the sign-in screen, select Power > Restart.
      • When the sign-in screen appears, hold Shift and select Power > Restart.
      • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
      • After restart, select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
    4. Check the internet connection from the lock screen Some sign-in scenarios need internet access. On the lock screen, select Network and confirm the PC is connected. If Wi‑Fi is unstable, try Ethernet if available.
    5. If there are multiple accounts on the PC, try another account On the sign-in screen, select another account from the lower-left corner. If another account works normally, the problem may be limited to the original profile.
    6. If the issue started after moving to a new PC or after repeated sign-in failures, verify date/time and install updates Go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & time and turn on automatic time and time zone, then install pending Windows updates and restart.

If the repeated sign-in is specifically tied to Windows account problems, use the relevant self-help article for the exact symptom:

    • Forgot your PIN
    • Change or reset your Windows password
    • Forgot your Microsoft account password
    • Not getting verification codes
