Hi Rishi,
Good day. The first thing I’d check is if Windows detects the phone at all.
- Unlock your phone and connect it to the PC with the USB cable.
- On the phone, check the USB notification. If it says Charging this device, tap it and select File Transfer / Android Auto or MTP.
- On the PC, open File Explorer > This PC and check if your phone appears under Devices and drives.
- If it doesn't appear, try a different USB port and, if possible, a different cable. Some USB cables are for charging only and don't support data transfer.
- If the phone still isn't detected, open Device Manager on the PC and check under Portable Devices or Universal Serial Bus controllers for a device with a warning icon.
If you tell me whether you're using an Android phone or iPhone, and whether the phone charges when connected, I can give you other troubleshooting procedures based on your phone type.
Regards,
Jhun
