Hi @Kibbey Jenckes
Short answer: no. It's not fixed because Microsoft doesn't treat it as a bug. The renaming to 20260921_085112000_iOS.jpg is by design, confirmed repeatedly by Microsoft moderators as expected behavior. It's done to avoid filename collisions, since every iPhone reuses IMG_0001, IMG_0002 and so on. There's still no setting to turn it off as of today. Side note, the hours in the filename are UTC, not your local time, which is why they look shifted.
What works if you need original names:
- Share photos from the Photos app to OneDrive manually (share sheet). That path keeps the IMG_xxxx names, but it's not automatic.
- Import photos to a PC or Mac over USB and let the OneDrive desktop app sync them. Names and metadata stay intact.
- If you keep camera upload on, the original "date taken" is still inside the file's EXIF data, so photos are still findable despite the ugly names.
If you want this changed, use Settings > Help & Feedback inside the OneDrive app. It's been a top request for years, and votes there matter more than forum posts.
