A desktop publishing application from Microsoft that focuses on page layout and graphic design.
If Export is not available in the version of Publisher being used, use one of these supported paths instead:
- File > Save As.
- Choose the folder to save to.
- In Save as type, select PDF.
- Select Save or Publish.
Another supported path in older versions is:
- File > Save & Send > Create PDF/XPS Document > Create PDF/XPS.
- Enter a file name.
- In Save as type, select PDF.
- Click Options if a different output quality is needed:
- Minimum Size for online viewing
- Standard for email or desktop printing
- High Quality Printing for desktop or copy shop printing
- Commercial Press for the largest, highest-quality commercial print file
- Click OK, then Publish.
If the goal is only to share the publication with someone who does not have Publisher, converting it to PDF and sending the PDF is a recommended approach.
If many .pub files need to be converted, there is also a sample PowerShell script for bulk export to PDF. It requires a working and licensed version of Publisher installed, and the script should be tested and modified as needed before use.
