How do I configure my Win11 pc audio to pair to my Cochlear Implant?

I have a new computer running win11 and I am trying to connect my Cochlear Implant device. I took it to my audiologist and was told that it had been paired to my laptop via Bluetooth. When I go to Settings for audio, it does not show it as a discoverable device. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Can you right click on your Windows Settings > BLuetooth & devices > Devices.

Scroll down a bit, in the "Device settings" section, do you see "Use LE Audio when available", if so, make sure it is turned on.

If you can’t find this option it means your laptop is not compatible.

For a cochlear implant to appear as an audio output in Windows 11, both the PC and the hearing device must support Bluetooth LE Audio. A device can be paired in Bluetooth and still not appear under audio output if the PC does not support LE Audio for hearing devices.

    Try this in order:

    1. Confirm Bluetooth is turned on
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Make sure Bluetooth is On.
      • Or open Quick Settings from the taskbar and turn on the Bluetooth tile.
    2. Pair the cochlear implant from Bluetooth settings
      • Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the taskbar.
      • Select Manage Bluetooth devices in the Bluetooth tile.
      • Put the cochlear implant in pairing/discoverable mode.
      • Select it when it appears under New devices.
      • If supported, Windows may also offer Swift Pair and show a Connect notification.
    3. Check whether the PC supports LE Audio
      • LE Audio hearing devices require:
        • Windows 11
        • Integrated Bluetooth LE support from the factory
        • LE Audio-capable Bluetooth and audio subsystem drivers provided by the manufacturer
      • If the implant was paired but does not appear as an audio device, this is the first thing to verify.
    4. Check the sound output device
      • Select the Sound icon on the taskbar.
      • Make sure the cochlear implant is selected as the audio output.
      • Also go to Start > Settings > System > Sound and check under Output.
    5. Remove and pair again
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Find the device, select More options (...) > Remove device.
      • Pair it again.
      • This is useful when the device shows in Bluetooth but does not connect correctly for audio.
    6. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter
    7. If it still does not appear in audio
      • The cochlear implant may support a hearing-device Bluetooth method that is not LE Audio, or the PC may not yet have the required LE Audio drivers from the manufacturer.
      • Windows documentation states that proprietary technologies such as ASHA and MFi are not based on LE Audio.

If the audiologist confirmed the implant was paired but Windows does not list it as an audio output, the most likely cause is missing LE Audio support on the PC or its drivers, not the pairing itself.
