This usually means Windows is not properly initializing the USB camera at startup or after sleep.

    Try this first:

Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers > open each USB Root Hub and/or Generic USB Hub > Properties > Power Management > uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    Then restart the PC.

If it still happens, go to Device Manager > Cameras > right-click the camera > Uninstall device, then restart Windows.

If the problem continues, please tell me more:

Does it mainly happen after a shutdown or restart, if so, also try turning off Fast Startup:

Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable > uncheck Turn on fast startup.

Does it matter which USB port you use? Is this Win11 or 10?

Try updating the camera driver for your device manufacturer's website, see if that helps.
