Hello! Hoping someone could help with this, I am completely unable to redeem rewards points. I am attempting to get an Xbox gift card but getting stuck at the popup to scan the qr code and enter six digit code in Bing.
I am using the bing app to scan the qr code but then being prompted to either open/download bing. If prompted to open, I just get taken into the bing app with no option to enter the code. I have attempted logging out of my mcirosoft account and logging back in with the qr code presented but still haven't gotten any way to enter the 6 digit code.

I have attempted using an InPrivate/Incognito window/tab and still just get presented with the screen to download bing, while using bing. I'm using an IPhone, I don't have a number attached to my account.

For Microsoft Rewards QR verification, the QR code option only works when all of these are true:

    1. The reward is being redeemed in a web browser on a PC or mobile device.
    2. The reward is not set up for Auto-redeem.
    3. Verify with the Bing app is selected from the redemption prompt.
    4. After scanning, the Bing app should prompt for the 6-digit verification code, then the redemption must be completed back on the original browser redemption screen.

Since the Bing app is opening but not showing the code entry flow, use this troubleshooting path:

    1. Confirm the same Microsoft account is signed in everywhere
      • In the Bing app, sign out and sign back in with the same Microsoft account used for Microsoft Rewards.
      • Then start the redemption again from the Rewards website in the browser.
    2. Start redemption from the browser, not inside the Bing app
      • Go to rewards.microsoft.com in Safari or another browser.
      • Choose the Xbox gift card reward.
      • At the verification prompt, select Verify with the Bing app.
      • Scan the QR code with the iPhone.
      • If the app accepts the scan correctly, enter the 6-digit code in the Bing app, then return to the original browser page to finish redemption.
    3. Update the environment
      • Make sure iPhone iOS and the browser are up to date.
      • Update the Bing app to the latest version.
    4. Clear browser data
      • Clear the browser cache and cookies.
      • Then sign in again and retry the redemption.
    5. Remove network blockers
      • Temporarily turn off any VPN, proxy, or third-party security software.
      • If possible, switch networks, such as Wi‑Fi to cellular or a different Wi‑Fi network.
    6. Try another browser, device, or network
      • Since InPrivate/Incognito did not help, try a different browser or a different device.
      • The documented troubleshooting for QR verification specifically recommends trying a different browser, device, or network.

Important limitation: the QR code option does not appear when redeeming inside the Bing app. The redemption must begin in a web browser.

If QR verification still does not present the 6-digit entry screen after the steps above, the next step is to contact Microsoft Rewards Support: Contact us
