Excel Certification Under Terminated School Account

I received a Microsoft Excel Expert certification back in 2021, but it was under my now-inaccessible student email, [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]@student.onslow.k12.nc.us. I apparently forgot to transfer it over to this account when I graduated some years back, and the account was terminated shortly after graduation in 2024 and is seemingly unrecoverable. Is there any possible way to recover the certificate and migrate it to [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]@gmail.com?

I understand that this question may be better suited for Credentials Help, so I posted it there as well. Seeing as the issue stems as much from my deleted account itself as the credentials tied to it, I figured it's worth asking here anyway. Thanks in advance for your help :D

    Hi @Jericho M,

Since the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Expert exam is delivered through Certiport, I recommend contacting Certiport Support first. Certifications earned through Certiport can currently be managed and downloaded from the Certiport Test Candidate account, although Microsoft is working to improve their integration with Microsoft Learn.

Note: This link is shared by community members for your convenience. It points to a third-party site that is not managed or verified by Microsoft. I can’t guarantee the quality, safety, or suitability of any content or software found there. Please review carefully and make sure you understand any potential risks before using it.

When contacting Certiport, provide the full name used for the exam, your former school email, current email, approximate exam date, school or testing center, and your Certiport ID or score report, if available. Ask whether they can locate the certification record and update the email address associated with your account.

Losing access to the school account does not necessarily mean that the certification record was deleted. However, only Certiport can confirm whether the record is still available and whether access or the associated email address can be updated.

If Certiport cannot locate the record or advises that Microsoft must handle the issue, you can contact Microsoft Credentials Support. Please note that Microsoft cannot restore a terminated school account. Account recovery must be handled by the school’s IT administrator and depends on whether the account is still recoverable.

I hope this information is helpful and points you toward the right support team that may be able to assist further. Best of luck, and I hope you're able to recover access to your certification record.
