Try these steps in order:
- Update Phone Link
- Open Phone Link.
- Go to Settings > About > Updates.
- If an update is available, select Update.
- Wait for it to finish, then reopen the app.
- If the app closes before staying open, update from Microsoft Store if available in the app list, then reopen Phone Link
- The supported in-app update path is Settings > About > Updates.
- Repair or reset the app
- Search for Phone Link from Start.
- Right-click it and open App settings.
- Try Repair first.
- If that does not help, use Reset.
- Then restart the PC.
- Reinstall Phone Link
- Open PowerShell (Administrator).
- Run:
get-appxpackage Microsoft.YourPhone | remove-appxpackage - Then reinstall Phone Link from Microsoft Store.
- If it previously worked and now will not reconnect after opening
- On the Android device, open Link to Windows.
- Under Linked Account, open the Microsoft account.
- Go to Account Settings > Sign out and unlink account.
- Confirm Unlink.
- On the PC, open Phone Link > Settings > Devices > Add new device and pair again.
- If the app opens briefly and still fails, send feedback
- In Phone Link, go to Settings > Feedback & Community.
Note: Resetting or reinstalling the app can remove the current app state and require pairing the phone again.
