Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
If this is a second email account in classic Outlook for Windows, removing it from Outlook does not deactivate the email account itself. It only removes that account from Outlook, so mail for that account will no longer send or receive there.
Steps:
- In classic Outlook for Windows, select File.
- Select Account Settings > Account Settings.
- Select the email account to remove.
- Select Remove.
- When prompted, select Yes to confirm.
Important:
- Outlook warns that all offline cached content for that account will be deleted from the computer. This affects only content downloaded and stored locally.
- If this is the last or only email account in classic Outlook for Windows, a new data location must be created before the account can be removed.
- If the goal is to deactivate the email account itself, that must be done with the email account provider.
