Since the microphones stopped working after disabling audio enhancements, re-enable that setting first and then test the mic.

    1. Open Start > Settings > System > Sound.
    2. Under Input, select the microphone that is not working.
    3. Open Device Properties or Additional device properties.
    4. Check these locations:
      • Enhancements tab: clear Disable all enhancements or Disable all sound effects.
      • Advanced tab: if Enable audio enhancements is available, turn it back on.
    5. Select OK.
    6. If there is more than one input device, repeat this for each microphone.

Then verify the microphone is selected and working:

    1. Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
    2. Under Input, make sure the correct microphone is selected.
    3. Speak into it and check the microphone test to confirm Windows is hearing it.

If it still does not work, check microphone privacy settings:

    1. Open Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
    2. Turn on Microphone access.
    3. Turn on Let apps access your microphone.
    4. If the issue is in a specific app, make sure that app is also allowed.

If Windows is not detecting the microphone at all, reinstall the audio driver:

    1. Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    3. Right-click the audio device and select Uninstall device.
    4. Select the option to remove or delete the driver for that device, then uninstall.
    5. Restart the PC.
    6. If Windows does not reinstall it automatically, return to Device Manager, right-click Sound, video and game controllers, and select Scan for hardware changes.
    7. Right-click the audio driver and select Update driver.

    Hi,

If the Q&A Assist procedure doesn't work, try the steps below:

See if that resolves the issue. If not, go to the Start menu > Settings > System > Sound, scroll down to "More sound settings," and—on the Recording tab—right-click in the blank area and select "Show disconnected devices" and "Show disabled devices."

Check for any disabled devices and enable them.

If there aren't any, go to Device Manager, navigate to the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, take a screenshot, and post it here.

    Thanks.
