OneDrive stopped working on my Mac Mini

This morning it asked me to locate the folder for OneDrive on my Mac Mini, and when I chose "OneDrive," then it started giving me the message:

We couldn't find your "OneDrive (2026-09-15 13:07:50 +0000)" folder in /Users/smdud/OneDrive (2026-09-15 13:07:50 +0000)

Make sure this folder still exists in this location and click "Try Again," or click "Stop Sync" to stop syncing this folder.

And then it give me only 2 options: "Close OneDrive" or "Stop Sync." Neither one works. Please help SOON!

    Hello,

    Yes, you can reinstall OneDrive, but I would try resetting it first.

    The error suggests OneDrive is still looking for an old folder location. That folder apparently no longer exists, so OneDrive is stuck trying to reconnect to it.

    Before doing anything, please sign into OneDrive.com and make sure your important files are there. If you have any files on the Mac that have not synced yet, make a separate copy of them first.

    Then:

    Applications > OneDrive > right-click OneDrive > Show Package Contents > Contents > Resources

    Run:

    ResetOneDriveApp.command

    or, if you see it instead:

    ResetOneDriveAppStandalone.command

    Then reopen OneDrive and sign in again. During setup, let OneDrive create/use the correct OneDrive folder.

    If the reset does not work, then yes, you can drag the OneDrive application to Trash, reinstall the latest OneDrive app, and sign in again.

    Do not manually delete your existing OneDrive files/folder until you have confirmed that everything important is safely stored online.

    Is it possible to just completely delete OneDrive from my Mac Mini and just start from scratch by reloading it?

    It gives me the same error message: "We couldn't find your "OneDrive (2026-09-15 13:07:50 +0000)" folder in /Users/smdud/OneDrive (2026-09-15 13:07:50 +0000)..."
