Random different emails from a variety of senders are automatically being transferred to Deleted Items. This is not happening every day or to all emails.

In classic Outlook for Windows, the most common cause is that the conversation was accidentally set to Ignore. When that happens, future messages in that thread are automatically moved to Deleted Items.

    Try this first:

    1. Open Deleted Items.
    2. Select one of the messages that was moved there automatically.
    3. On the Home tab, in the Delete section, select Ignore.
    4. If prompted, select Stop Ignoring Conversation.

If the Ignore button is highlighted for that message, that conversation is currently being ignored. After stopping it, the message is moved back to its original folder, and future messages in that thread should stop going to Deleted Items.

    Important details:

    • This behavior happens after Ignore was selected on a message, and then another message from the same thread arrives.
    • In Exchange Server 2010 and later, Ignore is based on conversation ID, so only that same conversation is affected.
    • In Exchange Server 2007 with a cached mode profile, Ignore can be based on subject, which can affect other messages with a similar subject.
    • In an online mode profile, or with Exchange Server 2007/2003 mailboxes, this feature is not available or functional.

If the issue is not tied to the same conversation thread, also check whether a rule is moving mail to Deleted Items.

    Hello

Besides checking what the AI answer already suggested, make sure you also check the Inbox Rules.

In Classic Outlook, go to Files > Manage rules & alert.

For web based, go to www.outlook.com > Settings > Mails > Rules

On your computer, if you use Windows, exit Classic Outlook, hold down Win+R keys, type in the following command to clear any hidden rules:

    outlook /cleanrules

Press enter to run it and restart Outlook.

    ======

If you use smartphone for example to check emails as well, make sure you check the phone's very own contacts app, and make sure in its settings you don't have any contacts blocked, that can also cause issue like this.
