Domain fully dropped from Bing search results — URL Inspection shows "Indexed", no errors, no manual actions

Site: [moderator's note: PII removed]

Issue: The entire domain disappeared from Bing search results (brand query "[moderator's note: PII removed]" and site: operator return nothing) between September 18-19, 2026. The site was visible at 23:25 local time on Sep 18 and gone by 00:44.

What I checked:

  • URL Inspection shows all pages as "Indexed" with no errors
  • All crawled pages return HTTP 200
  • robots.txt is clean, no site-wide noindex
  • No manual actions or penalties (Security section shows only empty Copyright Removal Notices)
  • No changes to hosting, CMS, sitemap, or site structure
  • Recent activity: 7 new informational articles published on Sep 18

A support ticket has been submitted via Bing Webmaster Tools support form (case: "Site Not in Index").

Question: Is this a known domain-level quality filter behavior, and is there anything else I should check or provide to speed up re-evaluation?

    Hi Петров Иван,

I can understand why this is concerning, especially since the domain disappeared within a short period while URL Inspection still reports the pages as indexed.

An “Indexed” status confirms how Bing has processed the inspected URL, but it does not by itself guarantee that the page will be displayed for a particular search query. Based on the information available here, there is not enough evidence to confirm that a domain-level quality filter or penalty has been applied. The publication of the seven articles may also be part of the timeline, but it should not be treated as the cause unless Bing Support confirms a connection.

Since you have already submitted a “Site Not in Index” request, I recommend updating that existing case rather than opening duplicate requests. It would be helpful to include:

    • The exact time window when the domain was last visible and first found missing
    • Screenshots of the indexed and live URL Inspection results for the homepage and a few affected internal pages
    • The indexed, excluded, and blocked URL counts shown in Site Explorer
    • The Search Performance data before and after the drop
    • The current sitemap processing status
    • Examples of the brand search and site: query returning no results
    • Confirmation that the canonical URLs still point to the intended domain

You may also run a Live URL test for several representative pages and compare the rendered content and canonical information with the indexed version.

As this is a public user-to-user forum, contributors here cannot view Bing’s internal serving or ranking status or initiate a re-evaluation. The existing Bing Webmaster Support case is therefore the appropriate route for a site-wide disappearance of this kind. Keep the case confirmation or reference number available and add any new findings to the same request. Thank you so much for your understanding.

What is described matches reports of a domain-level serving suppression or quality/trust re-evaluation in Bing.

Supported indicators from similar Bing cases:

    • Pages can still show as Indexed in Bing Webmaster Tools.
    • Crawling can continue normally.
    • site: queries and brand queries can return zero results.
    • No manual action or visible policy notice may appear.
    • This is not necessarily a robots, crawl, or sitemap problem.

    What to do next:

    1. Keep the existing Bing Webmaster Support ticket open.
    2. Explicitly ask for a human review and state that the domain is indexed but not served in SERPs.
    3. In the ticket, include the exact timeline already captured: visible on Sep 18 and absent by Sep 19, plus that the drop affected the whole domain at once.
    4. Include the checks already completed so support does not repeat basic troubleshooting:
      • URL Inspection shows Indexed with no errors
      • HTTP 200 on crawled pages
      • no robots.txt block
      • no site-wide noindex
      • no manual actions shown
      • no hosting/CMS/sitemap/site-structure changes
    5. Mention the recent publication of 7 new informational articles on Sep 18, since Bing-side quality or trust re-evaluations can happen even when no technical issue exists.

    What else is worth checking:

    • Confirm in Bing Webmaster Tools that there are no crawl errors, blocked URLs, or indexing warnings.
    • If the support flow allows it, use Raise support request and continue through chat; if unresolved, continue to Create support ticket.
    • If the submission flow shows a processing error after ticket creation, similar reports indicate the ticket may still have been submitted successfully, so check for the confirmation message or notification.

    What not to expect:

    • There is no documented faster escalation path beyond Bing Webmaster Support.
    • If this is a domain-level serving filter, only an internal Bing review can lift it.
